About Moustakbal Mali
Moustakbal Mali (مستقبل مالي — Arabic for "financial future") is a free savings simulator designed for residents and investors in Morocco. It projects the after-tax return of 9 savings and investment products available on the Moroccan market, with no account required and no data sent to any server.
Who runs this site?
This project is developed and maintained by sanhdir, an independent Moroccan developer, on a non-commercial basis. The source code is publicly available on GitHub (sanhdir/ribhi). This is not a licensed financial service and the results provided do not constitute investment advice.
Calculation methodology
The simulator applies periodic compounding (monthly, quarterly or annual) to the invested capital plus recurring contributions. At the end of each year it estimates the tax owed based on the effective rate for the selected product:
- Interest income (term deposits, PEL, Treasury bills): 20% withholding tax
- Dividends (BVC shares, equity funds): 15% withholding tax
- Capital gains (mutual funds): 15%–20% depending on the product
- Exemptions: PEA after 5 years, PEL after 3 years, PEE after 5 years
The effective rate displayed is a blended rate that reflects the actual composition of each product's return (share of dividends vs. capital gains vs. coupons). It can be overridden by the user to match their personal situation.
Rate sources
- Bank Al-Maghrib — key rate, monetary statistics, Treasury bill auction results
- AMMC — weekly mutual fund statistics, list of licensed asset management companies
- Casablanca Stock Exchange — MASI index performance, listed company dividends
- Moroccan General Tax Code (Finance Act 2026) — withholding tax rates
